Anyone who loves horses knows that there is nothing more pleasurable than going out for a ride on one of these animals. Horses are extremely intelligent and sensitive; they are often much loved by children who sometimes develop a real bond of affection with them. If this relationship with horses is encouraged early in life it can help develop long-term psychological stability in children. For this reason horses are used at many centres in the practice of hippotherapy.

The Riviera Horses riding centre at San Giovanni in Marignano (RN) is one of Europe’s leading institutions. It covers 115,000 m² of land, lying in the unspoilt countryside of the Valconca, adjacent to Rimini.
The centre is equipped for international competitions, as well as providing a riding school. It also offers an exclusive variety of visitor services, including a club-house, a restaurant, a sandwich bar, a fitness centre with pool and well-being facilities, rides through the countryside and a little lake with wooden bridge.
There are other riding centres near Riccione where you can enjoy a day in the country and go horse riding. One of these is the Tenuta “Il Fondo”, which lies inside the beautiful Conca National Park. This centre organizes courses for children, adults and the disabled, and caters for both beginners and expert riders.
The Marignanese Horse Riding Centre is open all year round and offers riding lessons to children over four years old. Courses are designed for beginners or for those interested in competitive show jumping. In summer the centre is open all day, while in winter it only opens from 14:00 to 19:00 in the afternoons. Hippotherapy courses can be arranged with the Riccione local government offices.
