The Sun Festival of Riccione is coming back from June 29 to July 4, 2008.

International event, one every two years, aimed at athletes of all ages, levels and specialties, the fair of free gymnastic in groups is coming to its 9th edition.

The athletes taking part in the Sun Festival come from every corner of the world and, with their fund of linguistic, physiognomic, stylistic and cultural diversity, they speak the common language of gestural expressivity.

They will bring in Riccione the skill and the harmony of their bodies, the vitality and the desire to perform and to stay together beyond the differences and the competitions.

Animated by the uncontrollable desire of moving and of getting worked up through physical exercise (aerobics, dance, artistic, rhythmic, experimental gymnastics…) they will transform the Green Pearl of the Adriatic in the largest gym in the world.

The rich programme of the Sun Festival opens with the parade of athletes that from the centre of Riccione will reach Piazzale Roma for the big inaugural gala.

Then the more or less young and more or less technical gymnasts will to set up, with passion and enthusiasm, seven evenings of demonstration-show.

All engaged in training in the morning, each group will present two athletic performances with musical accompaniment on the equipped and suggestive stages of the two arenas on the seafront.

The public will reward them with warm and endless applause and the city will thank them with parties and special events on the more trendy clubs and on the theme parks in the Riviera. On July 4 the closing gala in the square will say goodbye to them precisely with the intensity of solar explosions.

While the Green Pearl of the Adriatic  is launching the slogan “Gymnasts worldwide let us unite!” and is preparing itself  to become “the world gym”, our hotels, with their comfortable surroundings and the friendliness of the staff, are ready to welcome the protagonists of the event and all the tourists that with the Sun Festival of Riccione will live one week of early summer in an unique way.

In the varied landscape of Italian food and wine tourism there is a manifestation of success that has outcomes and premises particularly significant.

Cooks, products, recipes, wines.

Itinerary in Buonpaese (and the name itself is a whole program), desirable and festive fair that selects and displays the best food and that directs the trends of good cooking. To organize it, very well, are the boys of San Patrignano that invite, in the largest recovery community of the world, all the cheer spirits and the laborious bellies.
On the hills of Rimini Squisito! is coming back, at its 5th edition, from 30 May to 2 June 2008.

Meanwhile preparations are fervent around the tables that for now receive “only” the 1800 boys of the center, founded in 1978 by Vincenzo Muccioli, and the staff of assistants and volunteers.

Around the same tables, but also in the fast foods of The street of street food and on the grass with Déjeuner sur l’herbe, people will consume the event that, under the leadership of the Gastronaut Davide Paolini, will involve a hundred of excellent chefs.
Visitors will be amazed in the face of the more fanciful recipes, will appreciate the traditional Italian dishes or will become curious by the best of European and world cuisine.

In any way, they will face with delicacies, to accompany with good wines, chosen by award-winning wineries.
In the stands they will buy food and agricultural products coming from the ground around the corner or from remote plots of ground, from Peru, Afghanistan, Colombia, which have joined the program of conversion from opiates cultivation.

Many other realities that have made the work of land a tool for fighting against all forms of hardship situations were also present.
To enrich the manifestation roundtables and a lot of original proposals.

The high cultural and social value of the event, brought it the sponsorship of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Vincenzo Muccioli would be happy to see his community engaged in a really… Squisito! way.

“Non-violence should not be preached.
It should be practiced”, said Gandhi. It is to underline the importance of this message that, from 3 April to 16 May 2008, the Banquet of People for Peace will come back.
The event, every two years, with its 4th edition deals with the difficult and necessary theme of non-violence.
The Banquet, sponsored by the Municipality of Riccione and by the assessorship for Peace, in collaboration with the Province of Rimini and the municipalities of Rimini, Cattolica, Misano Adriatico, Coriano and about twenty institutions that are active in the territory, will involve intellectuals, operators and ordinary people of every race and age.
Seven weeks and thirty meetings to give voice to people who, in a non-violent and active way, are fighting against oppression.
Through round tables, exhibitions, theatre performances, concerts, documentaries, workshops, films, the debate will take shape.
The big programme of the event will take place in different locations of four cities: Riccione, Misano, San Giovanni in Marignano and Rimini.
To underline the importance of operating in our own small way, the Banquet proposes concrete examples of non-violence applied to the economy, religion, law and politics, education.
Examples where listening and dialogue, creativity and awareness are the main weapons to oppose the aggressiveness that breaks the social tissue.
The central day is Saturday, May 10 for the feast of the Banquet of people, at the Palazzo del Turismo di Riccione and in the square in front, with the final dinner offered to all and a world of dance that joyously will hit our senses and will bring a message of hope to everybody.
Riccione Hotels will be happy to accommodate the participants of the Banquet and to give them a comfortable environment where they will be able to reflect on how to become messengers of peace.
If, to paraphrase a proverb, between preaching and practice there is always the sea, the Banquet of People for Peace 2008 is a crucial event for people who would begin, or is already trying to row in the waters of non-violence.

Accussi” does Radio Deejay at Easter in Riccione!
This year on the occasion of Easter the Department of tourism of the town of Riccione presents citizens and tourists on arrival a very special chocolate egg: if you unwrap it, you can hear cheerful voices and laughs, if you taste it, it savours of good mood, if you break it, the notes and the songs of the most popular radio of Italy come out. Inside there is the most joyful and trendy surprise that can be desired: its name is Deejay Square.
At this point the appointment is usual, but the mix of ingredients is always original and explosive: from Saturday 22 to Monday 24 March, the speakers of Radio Deejay will come back in the beautiful setting of Piazzale Roma, where everything is ready for a three-day of live music and assured fun.
Among the nicest and most popular voices, who daily keep company six million listeners of the Milanese radio, La Pina and Diego will inaugurate Deejay Square on Friday from 17 to 19, and they will repeat on Saturday from 10 to 12. On Sunday the microphone passes to Stefania Salardi and Federico Russo, from 14 to 17.
As regards lives, on Saturday it will be the turn of the great rhythm of Roy Paci and the band Aretuska: started from Sicily with their Caribbean ska-jazz music, in Riccione they will irresistibly capture the square with the contagious good mood of their most famous songs.
And who knows that they will not open with the funny refrain “iè accussi fa a radiulina”…
On Sunday the show will go on with Giuliano Palma & The Bluebeaters, that have moved us with their original covers of the mythical American soul, and that now are presenting their new album “Boogaloo” in a fusion style of R & B, rock’n roll and soul, all to be danced.
The concerts, admission free, will begin at 21.30 in a Piazzale Roma that certainly will be full of passionate fans of good music.
The Easter weekend featuring Riccione and Radio Deejay is just the beginning of a collaboration that for this summer, in addition to the historical programme Walky Cup from Aquafan, promises good news.

Among the Easter initiatives, that one of Associazione Pantòs with the collaboration of the City of Riccione is special for originality and charms: the Last Dinner of Sand, is the title which summarized the great sand sculpture, creates meadows of the track of ice-skating, adjacent street D’ Annunzio in Place Aldo Moro, close to the restaurant La Fattoria (beach 122). Pantos Association carries out this sculpture with the will “to pose in the centre of Easter Festivity the figure of Jesus Christ, during the Last Dinner with its apostles, before dying and reappearing for us”.
The team of seven artists of the “Accademia della Sabbia”, known at the public and the tourists for the achievements of the cribs of Christmas on the beach the last years, proposes to carry out, under the artistic direction of Maestro Antonio Molin, a sculpture four times larger than this of 2007, its impressive size 12 X 9 meters.
For the occasion it will be prepared a covered structure of 12 X 18 meters, to receive and protect the sculpture.
Work began on March three and will be completed in March 15. At 17,00 starts the inaugural ceremony with the presence of several institutional representatives and the Bishop Monsignor Francesco Lambiasi.
During the two weeks of preparation, the artists will be honoured to show the techniques of work of the sculpture, at the schools or the private groups, which will request a guided tour.
The Last Dinner of Sand, will be in Riccione until March 30.
