Filed under: RICCIONE EVENTS — naimaisonline @ 16:26

bravo_jazz_riccioneThis year Riccione is hosting again the successful festival called “Bravo Jazz”, which is now at its third edition.
It’s organized by Comune di Riccione, and as usual, it features great celebrities from the Italian and international jazzy scene, and takes place at the “Teatro del Mare” every Friday at 21,15 until the 14th of march 2008.
On 8th of february a great trumpeter is showing, a musician defined “the most American among the Italian jazzmen”: Enrico Rava, in a duet with Dado Moroni, probably the most appreciated and requested abroad Italian jazz pianist. The collaboration between these two artists got stronger in the last years and is a sure success.
Rava, born in Trieste in 1939, has got a forty years career, more than twenty albums, and an endless serie of collaborations, among which we citate only some: John Abercrombie, Joe Henderson, Cecil Taylor, Dollar Brand, Franco D’Andrea, Miroslav Vitous, Daniel Humair.
Good composer
, gifted with great creativity, but still enchanting player, the “poet of the trumpet” is able to give intense emotions every time. At the moment he is also collaborating with the pianist Stefano Bollani and with Gino Paoli.
Dado Moroni, from Genoa, debuted at the early age of 17 with Tullio de Piscopo and Franco Ambrosetti, he took part in the 80’s in the jury of the international piano prize “Thelonious Monk”, and also in a tournèe in Africa with Alvin Queen’s band. He collaborated with Clark Terry and George Robert in the celebration for the 700th anniversary of the Helvetic Confederation, with a serie of concerts all over the world, always obtaining success. In 1995 he collaborated with the classical pianist Antonio Ballista in the “Two Pianos Cine Soul” project, and in the same year he also played in Japan.
The event is introduced by the music expert Maurizio Franco.
The appointment of “Teatro del Mare” really augurs well, both for the experts and for who just loves listening to good music.
