Suoni Migranti Festival Riccione 2008
Also this year, the Culture Assessorship of Riccione organizes the musical festival Suoni Migranti, eighth edition, by Massimo Eusebio and Sabrina Raggini. The topic of the festival is the contamination of the musical kinds and styles. The five formations performing at the Theater of the Sea, not only mix the sounds and the melodies, but they are composed by people of different ethnic and cultural origins, which thanks to the music, meet, mix and contribute to a music production, little known at commercial level but that meet the enthusiasm and the participation of the public during the live concerts.
The program 2008 starts with the participation of Orchestra Porta Palazzo (12 January), an eccentric multiethnic orchestra, coming from this zone of Tourin, always hospital towards the immigrants where every day takes place one of the largest markets in Europe; follows the performance of Klezmatics (January 26), group of New York which carries to Italy the contaminated Jewish traditional musics arranged with jazz; Zina (February 9), Italian-African group which mixes North-African voices and Balkans wind instruments; Toumast (February 23), Maghrebian music group, able to create desert atmospheres full with Africa’s sounds, rock’n'roll, blues and implying guitar riff; the festival ends on the beach, around the fire, with the musics of Gli Orsi (18 Mars), romagnol trio neofolk fascinated by melodies of the tradition, original or arranged and contaminated by blues and jazz sounds.
