In 1997, Legambiente, an independent environmental organization, promotes “The ecological hotel’s Decalogue”. Ten steps to get the European Ecolabel.
Riccione, for first in Italy, advances the project to its hoteliers.
First of all, they engaged to reduce castaways, water’s and energy’s wastage, to enforce diversified harvest and to use refillable containers.
Wellness and fitness, is also good eating, that’s why an ecological hotel offers biological products, prepares traditional dishes using typical foods and refuses OGM.
To reduce cars pollution, tourists can use elettrical shuttles and bicycles for free. They can do car sharing or ask for a transfert from/to Rimini, Forlì, Bologna and Ancona airports. There are also night and day special bus ticket.
Relax is a must. Hoteliers are sensible to reduce acoustic pollution in and out their hotels.
Every guest is given a vademecum to improve ecological behaviors, once at home.
Every year, Legambiente checks the outcomes and assign Ecolabel only to veritable ecological hotels!
