Promoted by the Tourist Councillorship of the Commune of Riccione and by the cooperative of hotel keepers Promhotels, over the years the international tournament has recorded a growing success with the public and has become a key event for lovers of this sport.
The festival attracts in fact 1200 athletes from all over Italy and has more than one thousand adhesions from Germany, confirming the historic link between Adriatic coast and German nation.
Once getting off the train or the organised bus, greeted by a mild spring weather, the youth of beach volley runs on the beach to have a challenge based on smashes.
And a warm public is already there to welcome the athletes, curious to see their sculptured physiques and their stretched muscles.
Five days of matches await them, days of fun on and off the field, because movida in Riccione does not lack. And they well know about it.
Among shouts of encouragement, schemes and strategies to face the opposing team, jumps to be over the net and to accompany the ball with power in the corner that will give the victory, the atmosphere of successful celebrations arises each year around the tournament and everybody goes back home with the feeling of having taken part, in various ways, to a joyful and regenerating rite.
