While in the head office of the Italian Swimming Federation climate is increasingly warming for the approaching of the Beijing Olympic games, and the national team is on training for the important European Spring Games of Eindhoven, the Swimming Stadium of Riccione is preparing to host the Italian Winter Youth Games, short pool.
Confirming the efficiency of the structure and equipment of Monterosa Street, FIN goes back on the covered swimming-pool with the new generation, for a six-day race extremely important for their growth. From March 6 to 11 young athletes will descend in the water to get tested in the different specialities and to improve perhaps their personal records, under the attentive eyes of FIN heads.
They will begin with the three days of the female section, to follow with men’s.
The town of Riccione is pleased to welcome the event and hopes that the relationship established with FIN could be lasting and lead to increasingly important and positive developments.
Also on this occasion the Green Pearl of the Adriatic will confirm its characteristics of hospitality, efficiency and organization.
And while, swimming lenghts after lenghts, blue champions are arriving in Beijing, and little champions in Riccione, a research, recently published by Tns infratest company, shows that swimming and dives will be the most followed disciplines during the Olympic games by Italian young people and that swimming is the most practiced sport among under 25.
There was no need to motivate further the blue team in view of Beijing… and new generation in view of Riccione…
Certain that our swimmers will not disappoint the expectations of fans, we are ready to applaud the enthusiasm, will and passion of young athletes, grappling with a complete championship, in 25 m pool.
At the Swimming Stadium of Riccione, at the end of the winter, for six days that, we hope, will see the certainties confirming themselves and even young new talents springing.
