Beach Tennis arrives in Riccione with an international event.
From July 31st to August 3rd, the beach of Riccione receives two great initiatives dedicated to this new and enthralling beach sport, the European Beach Tennis Championships and Beach Tennis Master Tour.
This new discipline, in which players must beat and beat back the ball always in flight, gives emotions and spectacle and is always more popular among international public.
It is practised on a sand ground, 16 m long and 8 m broad for double, 16 m long and 5 m broad for individual. (continua…)

Riccione queen of the beaches and the fun, but more and more also of the sport.

Since the first months in the spring they are counted in fact numerous the national and international events devoted to different sport activities, from cycling to swimming, from gym to tennis, to football.

It’s really to football that is devoted the 2008’s edition of the Friendship Cup, international challenge of 11 and 5 players Football for sport teams of Town Polices.

From 25th of May to 1st June 2008 they will be really them, the Town Police officers, to challenge them in football for this beautiful event on its 33rd edition.

Bobbies, flics, Vigili Urbani, Stadtpolizist: all playing to win the Friendship Cup 2008.

It will be a long calendar of matches divided among 11 and 5 players’ football lists.

The program will be officially open on Sunday 25th May with welcoming of the teams, drawing to compose the matches of qualification and, in the evening, a fascinating parade of the teams some of which in uniform, and then a pyrotechnic show in Square Rome.

On Monday 26th the first matches and an evening with a dinner on the beach, and on following days other matches.

On Thursday 29th free day to admire Riccione and its attractions, on Friday 30th a folk evening before entering Saturday 31st for semi-finals and Sunday 1st June for the final and awarding of the Cup.

With matches of 20 minutes for 5 and 35 minutes for 11 players the show is sure.

During the week devoted to the Friendship Cup 2008, it will take place also an important meeting for the Town Polices about normative and professional novelties.

If Miniature Italy after years continues to arouse passion in its many visitors, in Riccione there is a Miniature football that has a lot of succes.

From April 14 to May 4, 2008 the International under 14 Football Tournament Asar Riccione is coming back, at its 36th edition, to animate the green field in Vespucci Street.

Considered one of the most important launching pad for under 14 footballers, the spring competition is organised by Asar Riccione association, in collaboration with the sports assessorship of the town, and sees the most promising players at international level facing.

Kids are young but they yet know how to give the audience strong emotions.

We can already see them performing the same feats of champions: hyperbolic shots, triangular, filtering steps, overlays, diagonal, diving plastic, tunnel. Their performances are less technical but full of grit.
And what about their enthusiasm when they chase the ball and the poetry of their touch?!

In Riccione you will see them running, dribbling, springing forward and saving a difficult shot, right until the last breath and without saving their young energy, because they well know that the opportunity to display their talents is great.

Maybe someone has already in mind a particolar way to celebrate a goal, just like their beloved champions (Pato’s heart, Totti’s dummy, Toni’s airplane)… And who knows if his glance will tenderly wander in the gallery looking for the joyful eyes of his parents, even before for those severe of mister.

We hope that parents, for their part, as well as encouraging children from the terrace, have also inculcated in them the ideals of sportsmanship, fairness and respect for the adversary.

So that sport is lived by these young players in a healthy and clean way, in the football field of Riccione and everywhere their passion will lead them tomorrow.

The beach volley has become a meeting point for young people who, from a swim and another, dislike being exposed to the sun as lizards and prefer to live the sea as movement and as sport.
Since years in all coasts of Italy a lot of bathing-attendants were equipped to have one.
From March 25 to 29 Riccione gets ready to have more than one hundred.
We speak about the playing fields for beach volley that will be set up in the stretch of beach from Piazzale Roma to the port for the 11th Beach Line Festival.
Promoted by the Tourist Councillorship of the Commune of Riccione and by the cooperative of hotel keepers Promhotels, over the years the international tournament has recorded a growing success with the public and has become a key event for lovers of this sport.
The festival attracts in fact 1200 athletes from all over Italy and has more than one thousand adhesions from Germany, confirming the historic link between Adriatic coast and German nation.
Once getting off the train or the organised bus, greeted by a mild spring weather, the youth of beach volley runs on the beach to have a challenge based on smashes.
And a warm public is already there to welcome the athletes, curious to see their sculptured physiques and their stretched muscles.
Five days of matches await them, days of fun on and off the field, because movida in Riccione does not lack. And they well know about it.
Among shouts of encouragement, schemes and strategies to face the opposing team, jumps to be over the net and to accompany the ball with power in the corner that will give the victory, the atmosphere of successful celebrations arises each year around the tournament and everybody goes back home with the feeling of having taken part, in various ways, to a joyful and regenerating rite.
