Squash Riccione

Riccione is partnered with the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Squash (Italian Squash Federation) and is home to the Centro Tecnico Federale (Federal Technical Centre), the official base of Italy’s National Squash Team.

The centre is one of the most modern and equipped places in Italy for practising this sport, featuring as many as seven brand new squash courts, perfect for working out or savouring a bit of fun when on holiday. It has also been praised by the seven-time Italian champion Sonia Pasteris who agrees Riccione is a splendid and well-equipped town for keeping fit!
Riccione is the ideal town for squash enthusiasts such as you.

Sport offers Riccione

As from summer 2009, Riccione will host various international squash tournaments and training courses for young people and children who can stay at local hotels specialized in accommodating sportspeople and trainers. Do not miss out on the fantastic variety of lively events starting this summer at the sea resort!
Squash is a “recent” sport that was invented in 19th century England but did not catch on in Italy until the mid 20th century, when the Italian championships were quick to take off.
Squash is played using a racket a bit smaller than an ordinary tennis racket. The ball is made of rubber and contains a small amount of water which heats up during play and thereby increases the speed of the ball. To practise this sport you need to wear light and very comfortable clothes and shoes that must not mark the court in any way.
